Staff Sergeant Robert Heause Willis was born on October 8th 1913, and he was from Morehead City, in Carteret County, North Carolina. He was the son of John Bell Willis, of Morehead City, who passed away in 1973.
Robert’s great-nephew Carl contacted me in 2015 and said his grandmother Ruby often talked about her brother. On his fourteenth mission, Robert was killed in action while serving as the Ball Turret Gunner on the Joe Noyes crew.
